The General Traffic Department in Kuwait has announced a strict new enforcement policy where vehicles involved in certain serious traffic violations will be impounded for a period of two months.
According to the circular, the vehicle will be impounded if you are found in any of these four traffic violation – 1) blocking roads 2) wrong overtaking 3) deliberately obstructing traffic on roads or public areas 4) and parking in prohibited zones.
This new directive, outlined in Administrative Circular No. 9 of 2025, aims to enhance road safety and maintain traffic discipline across Kuwait.
Offenders will also be required to pay fines ranging between KD 15 and KD 20 after the impoundment period. The circular mandates strict implementation by all traffic officials, prohibiting any premature lifting of the impoundment. The measure is designed to deter repeat offenders and ensure safer roads for all users in Kuwait.
